Congrats to Vanessa and Mark who tied the knot this past weekend!
These are not the most artistic shots of the day, but they were definitely some of the most memorable. Here’s Mark singing a surprise song to Vanessa. Such a romantic. Can you see all the girls swooning in the back? ;)

Hope everyone enjoyed their fourth of july weekend! Saturday we shot a wedding, but Sunday and Monday we did plenty of grilling out. I was debating on whether to go photograph/see fireworks, but we ended up staying in. I’ve never actually photographed fireworks before believe it or not, but since people have asked about it, here are some tips I had collected from different people who have.
- First off, you have to scout out the best locations to shoot from where the wind is blowing away from you so you don’t get all the smoke.
- Shooting mostly at the beginning of the show, because the longer it goes on the more smoke.
- Leave the shutter open and use a black card or something to cover up your lens. Open it up every time you hear the sound of the fireworks and cover it up after each one is complete.
- Two to three bursts makes the best photos. So they say.
Good luck! Maybe I will take a stab at it next year. :)
