LA Food Adventure | Food & Travel

The last time I was in LA, it was a weekend of binge eating.  We ate every minute, every hour of the day… and when we weren’t eating, we were driving to or from a food joint.  Not only did I come back with extra weight, I felt sick and really REALLY missed the feeling of being hungry.  This time around, we paced ourselves.  I’m sure we’ll have more opportunities to go back. To eat.

Our food adventure began with food trucks.  F00d trucks are such a phenomenon in LA.  Now there are too many to choose from, so we only tried a couple – White Rabbit and the Little Frenchie – which were down the street from where we were staying.  I wanted to try the original kogi trucks, but we never got around to it.  Saved for the next visit.

Who needs a tripod when you can photoshop in the other person. ;)

I love pumpkin flavored things.  Especially this time of year.  Pumpkin pinkberry, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin beer.  Places we tried: the Little Frenchie, White Rabbit, Ramen Jinya, the Griddle Cafe, LaLa Argentine Grill, La Creperie, Frosted, Golden Deli, Porto’s, Curry House

This was longest wait of my life for pho.  I wasn’t keeping track of the exact times, but it was over an hour drive there and then another hour or so wait to get seated.  This meant it was also the best pho of my life… and quite possibly because we were starving!

I don’t have a photo, but after a week of craving Porto’s, we picked up some potato balls and cheese danishes brought them back.  Yum.  I’m down to my last two cheese danishes!

That was supposed to be my model face, but I just end up looking sad… or mad.  Bye, Cali! We’ll miss you!

I’ve saved these for the next visit:

  • That place in Long Beach with the best french toast ever…
  • Kogi Tacos
  • Sprinkles Cupcakes
  • Midori for sushi rolls, Miceli’s for italian, and Kings Road Cafe for coffee and pancakes (fellow foodie, Sheauen’s, recommendations in Studio City)
  • Zankou Chicken
  • Any other recommendations? I <3 food. :)
