Happy New Year! | My 30 Before 30

Looking back at 2010, it was one hell of a year.  Just within one year, we met so many wonderful clients and friends, traveled to places I’ve never been before… and I guess I should mention that we got engaged, planned a wedding, and got married!  And it was not just any wedding, it was a musical wedding or shall we say a wedding musical.  :)

Good times.  I’m so glad I have photos to remember them by.  I was trying to put together a giant collage of pictures like I’ve been seeing all over facebook, but it was taking more time than I thought to find all the photos.  Meanwhile, here’s us from our NYE party.

Instead of doing a year by year resolutions list, a few years ago I put together a 30 before 30 list.  They say it’s good to have things down on paper and give yourself proper deadlines.  It’s funny how year by year my priorities have shifted and changed though, so I had to modify my old list quite a bit.

  1. Read a book a month or 12/yr
  2. Take swing classes
  3. Put together an ideal 168 hour schedule
  4. Learn to play all basic chords and strumming on guitar
  5. Go through Rosetta Stone for French
  6. Cook all the recipes in the cookbook my girlfriends made for me
  7. Learn to cook an elaborate 5 course meal
  8. Read bible cover to cover
  9. Be someone’s life mentor
  10. Go to New Zealand/Australia
  11. Go to South America (that means I will hit every continent!)
  12. Snowboard on the west coast
  13. Go on a cross country roadtrip
  14. Do the 50 states photography challenge
  15. Complete a 365 (photo a day)
  16. Publish a photobook on women
  17. Start a women’s photography group/monthly event
  18. Be an integral part of a non-profit I’m passionate about
  19. Give away 50% of all profit to support others
  20. Dabble in travel photography and get paid to shoot 5 resorts in exotic locations
  21. Finish Insanity
  22. Run a 10k
  23. Hike halfdome
  24. Learn to play tennis
  25. Bowl 100 150 200
  26. Have a wardrobe makeover that makes me excited to get dressed everyday
  27. Get a masters in taco mac’s brewniversity
  28. Skydive
  29. Grow an impressive stockpile like this one
  30. Grow a herb garden and keep it alive for more than a few months.

1 month and 2 years to go!   :)  I’m hopeful.  Wishing you all a happy new year filled with wonderful memories!  What will your 2011 (and for the sake of this post, 2012) be about?
